Carol Varga (real name: Carolina Trinidad), one of the ’50s’ seductive/sultry and classy kontrabidas, died of cancer yesterday at age 78 (born on Aug. 6, 1930) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, where she resided after retiring from showbiz. Carol was a contract star of Premiere Productions for which she did several movies, one of which is the classic Dyesebel (the original, directed by Gerry de Leon, with Edna Luna in the title role) in which she played the kontrabida.

My mother, Liwanag Caravana Bateman, often spoke of Carol, they were good friends during the early days in PI. Prior to my mothers death, we tryed locating Carol in Las Vegas.
